This book is about innovation and leadership – as it unfolds in our everyday lives. Each of the sixteen tales of innovation in this book describes the methods, the reflections and the practice of a group of ambitious leaders who wanted more than “just” manage their current businesses. The book tells the story of how each leader found his or her own way to experiment with creating a different future – big or small. For their employees. For their organisations, and for themselves.
The complexity of everyday organisational life makes the analogy of the shark-taled goldfish on the book cover useful. If we want to take it upon ourselves as leaders, to find new and more valuable ways of doing “our leadership business”, then we must dare to experiment with the tools at hand. And if one of those “tools” is a shark tale, why not try it out and see where it takes you?
The world needs authentic, innovative leaders, who can navigate in complexity and make wise decisions.
